This is one of the finest local Black Metal band in Singapore ever heard. Officially released by Nebiula Records, MAJUSIAH have proven to be the standout of the underground Metal scene.

With aggressive drumbeats and heavy attacking riffs, the melodious Black Metallers set listeners in amidst of the early sounds of Cradle Of Filth. Intro keyboards from the song "Goddess Of Darkness" 1st generates a dark eerie atmoshpere and then alarms the listeners with a high scream of the band's name and with a set of fast atacking guitar riffs and drums. Very complex and great songs composition by the band themselves. They are proven to be worthy in the underground scene, and no doubt this band is ready to conquor the hellish blasphemic black metal underground scene both locally and overseas.

Alright, here it is, suicidal's self-released album. I've always been a fan of suicidal and whenever i go to their shows the two things that blow me away are their vocals, and the drums. In this album, there is not much difference. The title track blows the listener away with a deafening scream followed by some very well-crafted guitar riffs. This song is perhaps the most pivotal suicidal song to date and it definitely sets the tone for this album. If you are looking for a good black metal album with deafening screams, melodic keyboards and fast-paced riffs then this album is a definite must-have. For me, the best song on this effort has to be 'Dark Rituals' because of the melody between keyboards and guitars, and the drumming is superb. Also, the guitar work on the instrumental, 'Prelude to Mid-evil' is to die for. The only letdown is perhaps the live version of 'Pandaemonic Massacre' because the recording leaves something to be desired. Give this album a few spins and it will definitely grow on you. Overall, a very satisfying release from one of singapore's most promising bands of today.

Well, most of you would probably know of our very own local thrash metal act, Beast Petrify, by now. "In the Circle Of Time" is their first ever demo recorded since the foundation of the band back in 1993. Dated back in 1997, the current two-piece thrash metal maniacs, has a different lineup. Besides Al Fahmi(current frontman) on guitars and vocals, the lineup also consists of Yunos on guitars, Hairulnizam on bass and Rudi Rosmawan Boy (current frontman of local death metal outfit, Ethereal) on drums. Well, this demo sounds very much like early Slayer, if you were to ask me, with all those heavy chugging riffs, thunderous blastbeats, killer shred solos, which can be heard in most of the songs. I feel that "Terminal of Violence" is a great choice for an opening track since it automatically creates an immediate impact to the listener with the powerful chuggings, followed by fast blastbeats and a loud scream. The second and third track is slightly slower but has a more technical approach with lots of odd drumbeats and technical guitar riffs and basslines. The fourth track is probably my favourite. Really awesome guitar solo works between the two guitarists. Last track, "Sorrowful and Exasperation" is a slow instrumental with only guitars and keyboards. It sounds very melodic with all those ascending and descending scales and it's really pleasant to the ears. For those of you who are yearning for hard, fast and old school thrash metal, this is for you!

13 years and still, ETHEREAL has proven themselves to be one of the longest and Singapore's most promising Death Metal band ever produced. Ever since their 2 demo release ('Visions Of Doom' in 1996 and 'Pleading For Survival' in 1998) ETHERAL gained recognition in the local underground scene and other regions as well.
"Visions Of A Paranormal", opening track for this 5-track MCD entitled 'Social Misery' EP release 2004, leads the listener into daze with the awesome barrage of guitars, the way Death Metal should be. Personally, to me, the first track is one of the best songs ever composed by them. Balancing their great vocal and heavy-attacking riffs, 'Social Misery' EP generates a much more matured and complexity in their music. Such weighty slabs of old school death Metal as "Anak Liar" and "The Civilisation Factor" outstand this superb sound-quality 5-track MCD.

Out of Singapore comes this Vedic Metal band (so classified because of the belief system that drives them). They create metal somewhere in between death metal and black metal, with serious talent and driving battle rhythms. The atmosphere is great also, using Eastern music within the songs to achieve a feel unlike other bands. This is the only band attempting something like this that even comes close to what Nile has accomplished in the realm of atmosphere. Most bands that try it suck at it, and Rudra have prevailed. An all-around excellent release, and I cannot wait to see what's next.

The climatic "Netherworld opens up this six song MCD. before Suicidal unleashes their climatic black metal with funerous rhythms like the ones in "Kiamat". The band combines the more bestial and raw moments of black metal with some guttural voices that are more of the death metal style and with an omnipresent keyboard that orchestrates each composition. But at the same time they use the more blackish metal voice of the trollish type that fits the darker passages really well. The drumming is intense with fast patterns most of the time but also showing interesting passages where the emphasis is on heaviness. I specially liked the opening of "Pandaemonic Massacre" with wah wah and climatic keyboards (guys from Suicidal...this is a good idea to use often!!) The sound is extremely raw and maybe mixing the guitars louder can give extra power to the music of this blasphemic band. Pure darkness revealed.

KIYAMAT (Singapore) “Prepare For War” (MCD) - EP 2004, Recorded, Mixed and Engineered by Calvin of Raspatul .- Another colossus from Singapore, before beginning, I am thankful once again to my good friend Joe Suicide for this material, this EP indeed has been produced by him. The cover is quite typical of some Black Metal productions. I want to remark some very important data, KIYAMAT is a band of a single man, Ian Kiyamat, also known like Drakonian Baal, he plays the guitar and sings in all the themes of the EP, but "Mystic Dreams", where the guitar was played by Joe Suicide from SUICIDE SOLUTION, in addition I must tell you that this theme is the only one in all the disc that has keyboards on it, which are work of Drakonian Baal, the other instruments in this production were works of known musicians in the Underground Scene from Singapore, that have decided to maintain in absolute reserve their identities. Drakonian Baal is at the present time making service at the army in Brunei, he is the youngest brother of Elsa (vocalist of the great band SUICIDE SOLUTION). For those who are interested in all the details, I comment that KIYAMAT means Armageddon or end of the world in Malaysian. First track is simply called "Intro", just 35" of the most infernal thing than you have ever been able to listen to, non apt for children that just begin in this dark way, soon we have" Restless" an ill and totally blasphemer creature, with a funeral entrance, from the most perverse and cruel place, it has a morbid and malevolent cut, soon comes" Kingdom Crusade ", hit of this EP, riffs and percussion make me remember to the legendary band of Peruvian Hardcore from late 80's RESIDUOS INORGÁNICOS, indeed it remembers me the track of the same name "Residuos inorgánicos", the devastation continues with "Infernal Flames Of Hell", more jackality guaranteed, soon comes "Mystic Dreams", another excellent theme, with a very good use of keyboards, to close the EP we have the track that gives name to the disc "Prepare For War", an overwhelming holocaust, that gives us an extraordinary end! If you are in the Black Metal, sunk in the dark, in the Satanism, lust and hatred, this production is for you!

Formed early 2003, NERRAKA ( 5 hellhordes ) release their 2-track demo CD in 2005
'Arise From Hell'
With hellish vocals and rythmic satanic strings, being accompanied with skull-crushing drumbeats, NERRAKA opens their first demo release with demonic track "Thy Legion Of The Whores". High screaming vocals flowed through the warmageddon atmosphere, much influenced of NAGLFAR. Trully a great song for the start off release. Then came "Riwayat", the anthem arose from the deepest depth of Hell, set listeners into a much higher level of hatred against the unholy white liars Christians. Throughout the 2-track release, no doubt NERRAKA has risen from the pits of HELL with much potential in them into the hellish Black Metal scene. The only let down is the drums; which could be better if much grind drumbeats were inserted instead in some riffs.

One thing will tell you Exuberance is a Singaporean band; the number of tracks on Darkness Arise. The cd has only 3 tracks. However, one thing will tell you they are not your average singaporean black metal band; the actual cd itself, Darkness Arise. Despite having only 3 tracks, this stunning album completely blew me away. The first track, Evening Fade, is an intro full of piano and keyboard melody.
Come into Darkness Arise, and let it engulf you. The intro gives you that melancholic feeling and then it roars into an almost perfectly crafted black metal masterpiece. Undeniably beautiful, and with multiple guitar solos that tell you this is'nt any ordinary Singaporean band. The third and final track, End Of Dark Age, gives you most of the same that Darkness Arise offers, except that its shorter in length. I've always been a great fan of melodic death metal but I never thought a local band could pull off the genre as well as Bhelliom can. Within Nowhere, their latest effort, proves that Singapore does have quite a lot of talent out there indeed. This album just knocked my socks off right from the start and I can't wait to see Bhelliom live.
The album starts with 'In The Arms Of Agony', an acoustic piece which I must say opens very nicely. Its very fresh and tells me Bhelliom is something I should start my day with. The rest of the album is very well crafted, hits like 'Behind The Mask', 'Illucination' and 'Images Of Torment' are very high-tempo and gives you that fresh feeling. However, I felt that the rhythms of each song in this album are a bit too similar. By the time I got to 'Stranger In The Mirror' i noticed this and it started to get thrashy and well, boring. Only when I reached 'Agony's Dream' did the riffs start to get interesting again and the rest of the album really does well for me. The instrumental effort, 'Sky High Under The Influence' is definitely something special.
Overall this album left a very good impression with me and the production quality is quite satisfactory, i really feel this band has some serious power in their hands. I'm going to make Bhelliom a permanent spot on my playlist simply because I feel they are that damn good. Trust me on this, this is the first time I have ever given a local band a 5/5 rating for any CD/demo.
